Fishing Safari in the Archipelago

Join us for a fishing tour of the waters in Stockholm’s southern archipelago, lead by a guide from Utö Skärgårdsguide. We depart from Årsta Pier for a full day of fishing for brown trout, perch, pike, zander and salmon. The package includes a waterproof jumpsuit, fishing gear and picnic lunch or coffee with sandwiches. The tour may be booked as a full day activity or to include a hotel room and dinner at the inn.

Bike Rentals

The easiest way to explore and get around Utö is by bicycle which you can easily rent in the harbour at Cykelboden. They have children’s bikes as well as cargo or child trailers and maps of the island.

Moped Rentals

For those of you who prefer to get around a little faster you can rent a moped at the gas station in the harbour. www.ademic.se

Miniature Golf

The miniature golf course is located directly in front of “Seglarbaren”, which is also where you can rent golf clubs any day of the week all summer long.

The tennis courts located next to “Seglarbaren” are open and available all summer and may be reserved by contacting: Aktiv Skärgård.

Next to the “Hamnboden” there is a boule field and balls may be borrowed from “Seglarbaren”.

Beach Volleyball

The beach volleyball court is located below “Seglarbaren”. Bring your own ball or borrow one from the bar.

The soccer field in the picture on the left is not ours! Our field is of gravel so the training sessions for the Swedish National Soccer Team take place elsewhere. But if soccer is your pleasure, our field is perfectly situated in the harbour just next to “Seglarbaren” and if, by chance, you didn’t bring your own ball we have loaners.

If you would like to see Utö from the water then kayaking is the perfect choice. At Aktiv Skärgård . you can rent a kayak for a few hours or a week, with or without a guide. They also carry all the gear you could possibly need for an outing.

Beaches and Swimming

On Utö you can find everything from solitary rock cliffs to beautiful sandy beaches. One flat-rock beach is located at “Persholmen” on the other side of the bridge down in the harbour. A little further away we have “Barnens Bad”, a shallow sandy beach in a quiet little bay. If you have a bike or a moped you can take a trip out to one of the nicest beaches in the archipelago, “Storsand” a wide, sandy beach located in the military zone on the opposite side of the island. Make sure to check with reception that the area is open to the public on the day of your visit.

Utö Värdshus’ sauna is located in the old bakery. It is a good idea to reserve the sauna when making your room reservation. The cost is 50 Swedish kronor per person, per hour with a maximum of 4 guests at a time.

Billiard Table

Upstairs from the main dining room there is a billiard table available free of cost. Here, there is even a nice comfy sofa to relax and read or watch television in.
